A non-profit, a device maker and an AI platform, working on the same problem from three directions.
Non-profit
The philanthropic arm of the ecosystem. The Foundation creates awareness of disability and accessibility, runs training camps across India, and builds CSR partnerships so assistive devices reach the people who need them most — especially in underserved and remote communities.
About Torchit FoundationAssistive technology
The assistive technology arm, and the reason the Foundation has anything to hand out. It designs and builds the devices themselves — the sonar-based Saarthi navigation aid, the Saksharta empowerment kit and the rest of the catalogue — with affordability treated as a design requirement rather than a discount.

The artificial intelligence behind the vision aids. Jyoti AI reads printed text aloud, recognises objects and surroundings, and turns scanned documents into formats a blind or low-vision reader can actually use — in the Jyoti AI Pro smart glasses and the multilingual Jyoti AI Reader.

In the holy land of Chitrakoot, a new chapter of independence is being written for visually impaired students. Through Mission Saksharta, a collaboration between the Care Today Fund, Bookshare, and TorchIt, over 60 students at the Drishti Blind School were equipped with life-changing assistive technology. The camp provided Jyoti AI Smart Glasses, which allow students to read books, recognize faces, and identify surroundings, along with Saarthi Smart Canes for safe mobility. This initiative wasn't just about distributing devices; it was about replacing darkness with the confidence to learn, travel, and thrive independently.
